What is the inverse of the function f(x) = 4x + 8?

h(x) = x – 2

h(x) = x + 2

h(x) = x – 2

h(x) = x + 2

To find the inverse of an equation just switch the places of the x and y, then solve for y like so...

(keep in mind that f(x) means the same thing as y)

original equation:

y = 4x + 8

switching x and y:

x = 4y + 8

x - 8 = 4y

(1)/(4)x - 2 = y

Hope this helped!
