First we need to collect like term,

(we move 4x to the right hand-side, it becomes -4x, then we take -1 to the right hand sode and -1 becomes +1)

Hence the equation becomes;

4x = 1

To make x subject of formula, we simply divide 4 to bothside of the equation

4x/4 = 1/4

x = 1/4
