Explanation:

I don't know your quadratic but all you need to do evaluate

[f(-5)-f(-3)] divided by [-5-(-3)]

simplifying the denominator:

[f(-5)-f(-3)] divided by -2

So you need to find f(-5), this means replace x with -5

f(-3) means to replace x with -3

After you find those two answers subtract what you got for the pluggin in of -3 from the pluggin in of -5

After that subtraction divide by -2
