The average rate of change is the ratio of the CHANGE IN Y COORDINATE and CHANGE IN X COORDINATE

In this table we are asked to determine the change in rate from x= 3 to x=5

at x =3 , y = 27

at x=5 , y=125

Hence

Change in y = 125-27 = 98

Change in x = 5-3 = 2

Hence Average Rate of Change = 98/2 = 49

Answer = 49
