Line H is represented by the following equation:

2x + 2y = 8

What is most likely the equation for line K so the set of equations has infinitely many solutions? (4 points)

x + 2y = 2

x + y = 4

2x + y = 6

x – y = 8

To have infinite points the lines have to be the same.
If you divide every term in the example by 2
You get x+y=4

Answer:

b. x + y = 4

Explanation:

For to lines to have an infinite number of points that intersect, the lines have to have the exact same equation, so that every coordinate of H and K is the exact same.

Simplify the equation for H:

2x+2y=8\\2y=8-2x\\y=4-x

Rearrange the equation:

x+y=4
