if the diameter is 6 units, then the radius is half that, or 3.

For this case we have that by definition, the area of a circle is given by:


A = \pi * r ^ 2

Where:

r: It is the radius of the circle

If they tell us that the diameter is 6 inches, then the radius is 3 inches. replacing:


A = \pi * (3) ^ 2\\A = 9 \pi\\A = 28.26

Thus, the area of the circle is 28.26 \ in ^ 2

ANswer:


28.26 \ in ^ 2
