Answer: 14 units

Imagine a box on points (2,6),(6,6),(2,1),(6,1)
the area of this box is 5•4=20
now subtract the areas of the four triangles in between the box and the parallelogram
for all four triangles, the area is 3•1/2=1.5
20-1.5-1.5-1.5-1.5=14
