The function of DNA polymerase is that they essential for DNA replication and usually work in pairs to create two identical DNA strands from a single original DNA molecule.

Polymerase ends with -ase so therefore it is an enzyme kinda like Lipase the enzyme that breaks down lipids. Anywho, DNA polymerase is an enzyme that synthesizes the DNA nucleotides essential for replication.
