On this topographic map we can see that there's a body of water, a river, more specifically the Colorado River. As the river makes a sudden turn in an area that is very low, part of the water from the river floods the area right next to it. These waters create a swamp, which has much more static water. The swamp is covered with lot of vegetation, primarily trees and shrubs. In order be sure that it is a swamp, we also have a sign about it, which tells us where it is located and how it is marked on the map, which in this case we also have the number 1 on it apart from the pale green area with plants in it.
