Example Cans of Bonto Beans are packed in boxes measuring 444 mm x 296 mm × 108 mm. These boxes are delivered from the factory to the warehouse where they are stored until there is an order from a shop. Pallets are used to store the boxes of beans. A model of the pallet is shown here: (i) How many boxes can be stored on the pallet if the maximum packing height on the pallet is 100 cm? (ii) Calculate the amount of wasted space on the pallet. Answer in cm³ L=90cm B=90cm H=100cm

Answer:

Here , L of pallet = 90cm

B of pallet = 90cm

H of pallet = 100cm

Total volume of Pallet = L×B×H

= 90cm×90cm×100cm

= 810000cm³

Now, Measure of One box = 444 mm × 296 mm × 108 mm

Volume of Each Box = 14193792mm³

Converting 1cm³ = 10³mm³

so converting Volume of pallet from cm³ to mm³ we get , 810000 × 10³ = 810000000mm³

Now, To calculate the total no. of boxes

Volume of Pallet ÷ Volume of each box

81×10⁷mm³ ÷ 14193792mm³ = 57

Remaining Wasted space = 953856mm³ = 953.856cm³

I hope this Helps you~
