Evidence of seafloor spreading are
- Molten material
- Magnetic stripes
- Drilled core samples
Step-by-step explanation:
The convection of mantle is the reason for the seafloor spreading. Due to this process, mantle is brought upwards to the lithosphere. As the tectonic plates separate, the crust is made more plastic and less dense by the heat of the mantle and eventually cracks occur in crusts and the hot magma rises up to fill these gaps.
The mid ocean ridges' magnetism also acts as a supporting evidence. Basalt, the surface material of the new crust is magnetic in nature. With the aid of magnetometers, it was established that the ocean floor's magnetism was divided into matching stripes on both sides of the ridges.
