m=marta's rope

d=dilbert's rope

3d-10=m

m+d=120

Then you can substitute equation 1 into the second one

(3d-10)+d=120

3d-10+d=120

4d-10=120

4d=130

d=32.5

m+d=120

m+32.5=120

m=120-32.5
