The function g(x) = x2 - 10x + 24 is graphed on a coordinate plane. Where will the function cross the x-axis?

10 (-6, 0) and (4,0)
O (-2, 0) and (-12, 3
O (4,0) and (6,0)
O (12, 0) and (2,0)

(4,0) and (6,0)

You can solve it by setting g(x) as 0 so the function would be 0 = x2 - 10x + 24

Answer:

Option C.

Explanation:

The given function is g(x) = x² - 10x + 2x which is graphed on a coordinate plane.

We have to find the coordinates of the points at which function crosses x-axis.

As we know the points at which function crosses x-axis, y-coordinates will be 0/

In other words, g(x) = 0

So x² - 10 + 24 = 0

x - 6x - 4x + 24 = 0

x (x-6) - 4(x - 6) = 0

(x-4) (x-6) = 0

x = 4 and 6

So points at x-axis will be (4, 0 ) and ( 6, 0 )

Option C is the answer.
