The transform fault plate boundaries are plate boundaries that are formed where there's plates to slide past each other. Basically there's no real collision between the plates because they move in opposite directions but parallel to one another. Despite the lack of direct collision, the plates still create a lot of pressure between each other on the contact zone. This intense pressure results in the formation of cracks in the crust, some of which are parallel to the boundary and are manifested on the surface as faults, while some are cracks deep inside the crust and create adjustments. The adjustments of the crust deep inside it release lot of energy, and that energy is manifested through strong, destructive vibrations, known as earthquakes.
