It’s number 2. 16 divide 2 is 8. 4 multiply 2 is 8. So it’s the second choice

For this case we must find an expression equivalent to:

(x ^ {(1)/(4)} * y ^ {16}) ^ {\frac {1} {2}}

By definition of power properties we have to:

(a ^ n) ^ m = a ^ {n * m}

Then, rewriting the expression:

(x ^ {\frac {1 * 1} {4 * 2}} * y ^ {\frac {16 * 1} {2}}) =\\x ^ {\frac {1} {8}} * y ^ {\frac {16} {2}}) =\\x ^ {\frac {1} {8}} * y ^ {8}

Answer:

Option B
