3. If the lateral surface area of a

cylinder is 94.2 cm2 and its height
is 5 cm, then find
i) radius of its base
ii) its
volume

I) R = 3 cm;

II) V = 14.3 cm³.

I) C = 94.2 ÷ 5 = 18.84

A cylinder has a base with a circumference of 18.84cm.


R=(C)/(2\pi ) =(18.84)/(2 \cdot 3.14) =(18.84)/(6.28) =3 \: (cm)

II)
V=\pi R^(2)H=3.14 \cdot 3^(2) \cdot 5 = 141.3 \: (cm^(3))
