First of all, we have to consider the time period in which Jesus of Nazareth lived (based on historical documentation of the Roman Empire) in, specifically the time period in which he accomplished his miracles (Turning water into wine at the wedding, healing a leper, healing a blind man, etc.), his ministry (Sermon on the Mount-Beatitudes , Last Supper, etc.), his passion (Stations of the Cross, Death (Crucifixion), and his Ascension.
These four aspects of Jesus’ life are know as the Paschal Mystery. In these pivotal moments of salvation history Jesus experienced serious opposition from the Pharisees especially the Sanhedrin which was the court of the temple in Jerusalem in which Caiaphas was the High Priest. Also, Jesus was under extreme scrutiny by the Roman Empire as well since they saw him as a threat who could trigger a rebellion. Furthermore, Jesus’s had critics even in his own circle of close friends that are known to be the 12 disciples. The most famous of them is Thomas who doubted Jesus after his resurrection occurred (who by the way only believed Jesus after he showed him the marks in his hand that were cut through by the nail during the crucifixion). Having listed the main opposition Jesus received during his most significant moments of his life we have to turn our attention to the actual manner in which Jesus responded to this. The Gospel have different view points (accounts of this) but one character trait is predominant through all of the Gospels and that is his integrity. This integrity allowed him to be mellow and calm under difficult circumstances. His use of reasoning and use of parables made it really easy to understand his message. Conversely, this made it even harder for his critics who literally tried every possible way to fool him. The attributes that defined Jesus when he was faced with opposition should be an role model example for all of us: How we should act under heated arguments or disagreements. One should never forget what he said about your enemies: Love your neighbor but also love your enemy (pray for them).
There was only one instant that I can remember based on the scripture when Jesus really had to wrestle to get his temper controlled. That was when he entered the court yard before the temple -> he saw all of these greedy merchants selling animals for Passover ( For your information: Theologians have different viewpoints of this matter in terms of the particular interpretation of how he dealt with the merchants. But it clearly states that he yelled and pushed the merchant’s table to the ground but then again we have to consider the interpretation and see if there is some figurative language in there and so on.)
