⇒ y = 1/4x and

⇒ 5x - 8y = 33

We can write 1st equation as ,

⇒ 4y = x

Put x = 4y in 2nd Equation ,

⇒ 5*4y - 8y = 33

⇒ 20y - 8y = 33

⇒ 12y = 33

⇒ y = 33/12

Put this in 1st ,

⇒ 33/12 = 1/4 x

⇒ x = 33/12 × 4

⇒ x = 33/3

⇒ x = 11 .
