Answer:

B). he wanted to make sure she was still following him.

Step-by-step explanation:

In the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, Orpheus is a talented youth who can play the lyre extremely well. Orpheus then falls in love with a woman named Eurydice, and the two get married. However, Eurydice is bitten by a snake and dies. Orpheus then is able to play his lyre to Hades, the god of the underworld, and moved by his sorrow, Hades agrees to let Eurydice go. However, Orpheus has to promise not to look back while they are leaving the underworld. Orpheus, however, is too tempted and he looks back in order to make sure that Eurydice is following him. This causes him to lose her forever.
