x = 4

Explanation:

Evaluate f(2) and equate to g(x)

f(2) = (3 × 2) - 1 = 6 - 1 = 5, then

2x - 3 = 5 ( add 3 to both sides )

2x = 8 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 4
