Answer:

Cell division is taken by two different means: meiosis and mitosis. Both types of cell divisions have similarities even though they have a different purpose. The mitotic cell division generates 2 daughter cells with the same number of chromosomes while meiosis produces 4 daughter cells with half number of the chromosome to their parent cells.

Except for this, meiotic and mitotic cell divisions are similar in the mechanism. Both cycles go through multiple stages. In these multiple stages both meiotic and mitotic cell division experience the same events as DNA replication and condensation, spindle formation, segregation of chromosomes and nuclear formation .

Thus, both cell cycles have several similarities.
