The area of the figure is equal to the area of two triangles plus the area of rectangle

so


A=2[(1)/(2)(b)(h)]+(L)(W)

we have


b=1+4+1=6\ cm ----> the base of triangle


h=2\ cm ---> the height of triangle


L=11\ cm ----> the length of rectangle


W=4\ cm ----> the width of rectangle

substitute


A=2[(1)/(2)(6)(2)]+(11)(4)


A=56\ cm^(2)
