Answer:

B. diploid phase

Step-by-step explanation:

The plants that we recognize today are most angiosperms and they like all other vascular plants. The dominant phase is the sporophyte generation. Each cell of the sporophyte generation is diploid. Most of the time in the life cycle of a plant is spent in vegetation phase (root, stem and leaf) and reproductive phase (flowers). Flowers produce spores after meiosis. Spores are geminate to form gametophytes which are haploid. Male gametophyte develops within a pollen grain and produces sperm. Female gametophyte develops in the ovary and produces eggs. After pollination and fertilization, a diploid zygote which is the first cell of sporophyte is formed. The zygote develops into an embryo inside a seed.
