let's take a peek, we have two fractions, let's get the LCD of all fractions, in this case the LCD of 2 and 5, hmmmm that'd be 10.

now, let's multiply both sides by the LCD of 10 to do away with the denominators and proceed.

\bf \cfrac{x}{2}+\cfrac{2x}{5}=18\implies \stackrel{\textit{multiplying both sides by }\stackrel{LCD}{10}}{10\left( \cfrac{x}{2}+\cfrac{2x}{5} \right)=10(18)}\implies 5x+4x=180 \\\\\\ 9x=180\implies x=\cfrac{180}{9}\implies x=20
