(3)/((1)/(6) )

Rewrite that to look a little more manageable:


(3)/(1)÷
(1)/(6)

And of course you know that if you want to divide fractions, you flip the one on the bottom upside down and change the sign to multiplication:


(3)/(1)×
(6)/(1)

Do that multiplication and you get 18 pieces.
