a man can do a job in 4 days working alone and his helper can do the same job in 12 days working alone what part of the job can they do in one day when working together at their respective rates?​

Solution:

Let t = working together in terms of days

(1/4) + (1/12) = 1/t

Solve for t.

Multiply both sides by the LCD.

LCD = 12t

3t + t = 12

4t = 12

t = 12/4

t = 3

Together, they can do the job in 3 days.
