Explanation:

These are two similar triangles, the triangle MNO has been scaled off triangle FGH.

To calculate the scale/dilation factor, you take 2 measurements of a similar side and you calculate the ratio.

Since we have the measurements for segments GH and NO, and these are similar sides, we'll use that to calculate the scale/dilation factor of MNO over FGH.


(NO)/(GH) = (15)/(9) = (5)/(3)

Dilation factor is 5/3... or 1.666

if you're also looking for value of x, it would be 6 * 1.666 = 10
