S.A.=2((2)(1)+(1)(8)+(8)(2))\\\\\Rightarrow\ S.A.=2(26)\\\\\Rightarrow\ S.A.=52\text{ ft.}^2

There are 2 sides that are 2 x 1 = 2 ft^2 each

2 sides are 1 x 8 = 8 ft^2 each

And 2 sides 2 x 8 = 16 ft^2 each

Total surface area = 2 + 2 +8+ 8 +16 + 16 = 52 ft^2
