so we know that only 2 plus or multiplied by 2 can = 4

and because 2 is outside the parentheses it has to be multiplication meaning that x + 3 has to equal 2

4 = 2(x+3)​

4 = 2 ( -1 + 3)

4 = 2 (2)

2 * 2 =4

4 = 4
