Explanation:

It is because the difference between 2 consecutive number is constant. In geometric series the difference between two numbers is the ratio between them.

Formula : tn=a+(n-1)d

a=1st term

n=nth term

d=difference

but in geometric sequence

formula: tn= ar^n-1

a=1st term

r=ration

n=nth term
