This question is very unscientific. It uses a lot of rubber words ... "very cold", "mild", and "very hot" ... words without definite meanings, that mean different things to different people, and may even mean different things to the same person at different times.
To me, any place in North America located south of the latitude of Chicago has a climate characterized by very hot, very humid, very oppressive, mercilessly long Summers, and weak, anemic, negligible, absurd excuses for Winters.
