First we calculate the circumference.

The formula to calculate the circumference is:


C = 2\pi r

Where r is the radius of the circumference

In this case
r = 8 inches

So:


C = 2\pi(8)


C = 2\pi(8)


C = 50.265\ in

The cake is divided into 6 equ pieces, so the arc length of each piece is:


(50.265)/(6)=8.4\ in
