what would be different about a memoir written by a person who witnessed an event compared to a live television news broadcast about the same event?

A new broadcast would be showing what had happen. A person who is to witness it would have more details. This is because they actually experienced the event.

A memoir retells the specific experiences of a person who lived a particular event.

In contrast with a TV news broadcast reporting the event, a person who experienced it can narrate with a much personal perspective about what he/she felt when they were present during that moment. A memoir offers the reader a more immersive narrative that intensifies the individual's particular feelings and experience.
