Progressive era is refereed during the period of 1890s to 1920s, which was known for the political,social and economical redform.

President T. Roosevelt is called as the first modern president of the America. He had a strong support to the Progressive movement.

However, before progressive era the industrialization period was dominating in the US. USA was also enjoying the sweet fruits of industrialization. But there were some activities which is marked as the dart dot in this period. The owner of the big private businesses became powerful and ruthless. They took a monstrous role to the newly immigrant worker. On the other hand the role of government to the private business was minor. Many politicians used avoid such ruthless activities for the corruption. They had a profitable relationship with the businessmen.

However the President T. Roosevelt supported the progressive movement through enacting some legislation. He passed the law that government will regulate the big private business and will monitor.
