Answer:

MIRI is the infrared instrument mission board in the JWST. The full form of JWST is the James Webb Space Telescope which will be next version of Hubble Space Telescope and it was planned to take over on 2018.

The mission is led By NASA with co partner European space agency (ESA) and the Canadian Space Agency. There were some goals set for this mission.

The main goal was to study the universe, when the universe was less then 1 billion years old. The goals of the study was to probe the formation of the first stars, the primary order of black holes, the re ionization of the universe.

Search of extra solar planets was also an objective of the mission.

Moreover, the featuring of this telescope collecting area is 7 miles larger than the Hubble Space Telescope and it will provide more clear image of the universe.
