1. Inequality and oppression exist because of countless reasons. One of them is the idea of social darwinism and the act of colonization. Part 2 of the answer to the first question should probably be answered with your own personal opinion.

2. Wars are fought over resources. In order for one country/region/etc to acquire a certain resource they might have to negotiate trade with another country.
