=12 because to find the x you use the Pythagorean theorem. The formula for the Pythagorean theorem a squared plus b squared equals c squared. So they give you b or a which ever one you want which is 35 to use and they give you c which is 37 so the equation would be 35 squared plus b squared or a squared equals 37 squared. 35 squared equals 1225 and 37 squared equals 1369 so now it’s 1225 plus a squared or b squared equals 1369 now to find the a squared or b squared you would subtract the 1225 from the 1369 which equals 144 then find the square root of that to equal 12 so x=12
