Angle 1 and Angle 2 are complementary. Angle 1 measures (3x-5) and Angle 2 measures 65 degrees. What is x?

Explanation:

If Angles 1 and 2 are complementary, then:

Angle 1 + Angle 2 = 90°

Since Angle 2 = 65°, Angle 1 + 65° = 90° → 3x - 5 + 65° = 90°, or

3x + 60° = 90°

Then 3x = 30, and x = 10
