For this case we have that by definition, the slope of a line is given by:

m = \frac {y_ {2} -y_ {1}} {x_ {2} -x_ {1}}

We need two points through which the line passes.

(x_ {1}, y_ {1}) :( 1,4)\\(x_ {2}, y_ {2}) :( 3,2)

Substituting:

m = \frac {2-4} {3-1} = \frac {-2} {2} = - 1

Answer:

m = -1
