The 18th Amendment called for the banning of the manufacture, sale, or transportation of alcoholic beverages. The Eighteenth Amendment is the only Amendment to ever have been repealed from the United States Constitution–via the inclusion of the Twenty-First Amendment.

The aim of the Eighteenth Amendment was to ban alcohols and declared the act of production, transportation and sale of alcohols illegal.

Explanation

The eighteenth amendment was a huge failure.

Before implication, many claimed that alcohol increased violence and related problems to family life.

It was introduced with good intention to restrict people from alcohol addiction but criminals found numerous ways to sell alcohol illegally taking making lucrative fortunes.

This amendment was introduced in 1919. The 21st amendment was made in reverse to the 18th amendment.
