Nepal is a relatively small country for Asian standards, but it is a very interesting country when it comes to its demographic picture.
The country has lot of ethnic groups, none of which actually has makes a high percentage of the population, with the Chhetri being the largest ethnic group with 16.6% of the population, followed by the Brahmins with 12.2%, Magar with 7.3%, Tharu with 6.6%, and so on.
The religious spectrum is also wide, though in here we have a religion that is dominant, and that is the Hinduism with over 80% of the population being its followers. Around 9% are Buddhist, around 4% Muslims, 3% are Kirant...
The different ethnic groups and different religions have contributed to the creation of numerous different cultures, all of which have their own unique traits, very often practiced only on a local level.
