substitute equation A in equation B and solve for y

(1/7)(y+5)=(1/5)(y-5)

5(y+5)=7(y-5)

5y+25=7y-35

7y-5y=25+35

2y=60

y=30 years

Find the value of x

x=y+10 ----> x=30+10=40 years
