Explain both the positive and negative influences geography had on the people who moved to the West early on. What opportunities did geography provide? What obstacles did it present? Provide multiple specific examples.

Answer:

there are both negative and positive influences from the geography. In the Santa Fe Trail for example, the positive side of it is that in the area there is good meat to hunt such as buffalo. But a bad side of it is that the travelers had enemies such as the Natives. American Indian attacks were more frequent on the Santa Fe Trail than on the northern trails.

Well it helped the find safe land to migrate to. Though the journey getting there is the real challenge. Geography provided ways for people to know which land is nearby, The obstacles is that not every map is right and some may lead to somewhere else.
