9 inches of ribbons are needed for wrapping each present. How many presents can be wrapped with 6 yards of ribbons?

Answer:

24 presents.

Explanation:

First I did 36 multiplied by 6 and got 216. Then i divided 216 by 9 and got 24.

Answer: with 6 yards of ribbons we can wrap 24 presents.

Explanation:

For each 9 inches of ribbons, we can wrap one present, then if we have 6 yards we have:

1 yard = 36 inches

then 6 yards is equal to 6*36 inches = 216 inches

now, in how many pieces of 9 inches we can divide the 216 inches?

this is:

N = 216/9 = 24

for each one of those 24 pieces of 9 inches we can wrap a present, this means that with 6 yards of ribbons we can wrap 24 presents.
