Souls are united even though they are physically apart. How

does this metaphor help the poet describe his love?
If they be two, they are two so
As stiff twin compasses are two;
Thy soul, the fixed foot, makes no show
To move, but doth, if the other do.
It reflects the journey the poet will take on.
It reflects the spirituality, symmetry, and interconnection
in their relationship.
o It conveys the possessiveness and dependency on the part
of the poet.
It signifies the distance the poet feels when he is away
from his lover.
