Answer:y = -2x + 7

Explanation:

The equation of a straight line when two points are given is y - y1 = m(x - x1) but m is gradient which is y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

Substitute the points (3 ,1 ) and (7 , -7)

To the gradient equation and solve for the gradient which is m = -2 .Now with the gradient and the first point (3 , 1) solve for the equation

:• y - 1 = -2(x -3 )

y - 1 = -2x +6

. y = -2x + 7
