3 x² - 2 x - 6

x² + 0x + 2 | 3 x⁴ - 2 x³ + 0 x² - x - 4

3 x⁴ + 0 x³ + 6 x²

- 2 x³ - 6 x² - x - 4

- 2 x³ + 0 x² - 4 x

- 6 x² + 3 x - 4

- 6 x² + 0 x - 12
