In the given figure the alternate angles are equal and hence a right angle triangle with one of its angle as 30 degree is formed .

For angle 30 degrees adjacent side is 18 yard and opposite side is x.

Tan of an angle is equal to
(opposite)/(adjacent)


Tan 30=(x)/(18)

x=Tan 30 (18)

x= 10.39

x= 10.4 yard (rounded to tenth place)
