A = \pi {r}^(2) \\ \\ r = (7.5)/(2) = 3.75

So

A = (3.14)({3.75}^(2) ) \\ A = (3.14)(14.0625) \\ A = 44.15625 \\ A =44.16

area = \pi {r}^(2) \\ r = (1)/(2) * 7.5 = 3.75 \\ 3.14 * 3.75 {}^(2) \\ 3.75 {}^(2) = 14.06 \\ 3.14 * 14.06 = 44.1484 \: inches {}^(2)

hope that helped
