Answer: x = -1 and y = -2

Explanation:

So if you know y = x-1 you can plug that in where y is in the first equation

-4x + 3(x-1) = -2

Distribute the 3:

-4x +3x -3 = -2

Combine like terms:
-x -3 = -2

Add 3 to both sides:
-x = 1

Multiply by -1:
X = -1

Then you plug that into the other equation to get y=(-1)-1

Which is -2
